Resign Thyselves.
{Spoilers for Star Ocean 1, 2 and 3, mainly 3}
One attack on a holiday resort planet and Fayt Leingod’s world changed forever; everywhere he went, it was attacked. He found himself stranded upon a Under-developed planet with little more than a crashed escape pod and although one Cliff Fittir, a member of an anti-Federation group called Quark, helped him defeat Norton, he was still no better off going back with him. The Vendeeni attacked again and Fayt found himself being stranded on Elicoor II, another Under-developed planet and with no one but Cliff and Mirage.
However, this is not the start of the problems. The real problem started years ago before he was born. His father, along with Sophia’s father and the Traydors, found out about plans to annihilate the universe as they knew it. A 4D space, which apparently created their universe and now wants to eradicate them, because they ‘went too far’ with symbological genetics. So they decided to do some experiments and combat their threat. If they were going to die, they would die fighting, Robert had said. So they got two children, Fayt and Maria, and put the gene of destruction within Fayt and the gene of Alteration within Maria. Finding this would not be enough, they decided to put the gene of Connection within Sophia, so they could connect with the 4D space and enter it, in order to find the creator and stop them.
Things were not that easy; Belzeber picked up on their plan and although he could not stop it, he, Luther and a few others decided to counteract this plan by using three humans in the Eternal Sphere that they knew would be good subjects in the same way and putting a gene into each of them as a child: they put a Violence Gene into one of them, the Cancellation gene into the second and the Absorber gene into the third human, though, unbeknownst to them, Welch Vineyard tampered with the genes. She couldn’t do much, but she made the genes have a bit of a weakness each: the Violence gene would not only invoke hell, but it could also invoke heaven; so it could either invoke heaven or hell. The Cancellation gene, which was supposed to cancel out every single attack and spell, especially the Destruction, Alteration and the Connection gene, instead Welch made it so that it would not cancel out everything. And finally, the Absorber gene; it would absorb all and any damage, making the user stronger each time, but now although it can shield against most physical attacks and absorb most magical attacks, it can’t do so with everything.
Luther also brought back the Ten Wise Men and Jie Revorse, some of the most powerful and insane Eternal Sphere combatants they had ever created, in order to wreck havoc upon the Eternal Sphere, because the Executioners weren’t enough, clearly.
Welch knew this was going to be, so she had made sure she had found herself some dashing heroes to save the day. The only problem was that Jie Revorse and the Ten Wise Men were from centuries ago. No problem. She got herself into Jie Revorse’s timeframe and travelled with Ronyx and everyone, warmed to them and did all that, and boom! At the end, she made it so that not only Millie and Roddick and Dorne from S. D. 346 were sent to the future, but Cyuss, the Jerands, Tinek, Perisie, Phia and Ashlay were sent to the future; S. D. 772, to be precise!
Then she teleported herself about three hundred and twenty years into the future (for she had been stuck in S. D. 46 at the time) and, well, her steering was off since she landed slap-bang on top of Claude, now that’s a little clumsy! Welch decidedly went along with Claude and the gang, causing nuisance and being a general pain in the ass until the end, where she ended up back on Expel, without a Nede, which she quite liked, so she twiddled with her device and sent Claude and his friends into the future as well. She also sneakily brought Nede back, since that had been her favourite planet to explore, even before meeting Claude. Can’t have that, can we? That would be like killing off the main character’s father, now that is just sad, Welch thought.
And now she is on Elicoor, being ever so groovy and inventing things in her little shop and driving the Guild Master insane.
Will you help those in the Eternal Sphere fight back for their universe or will you watch them fail?
