A HUNDRED YEARS AGO, a princess became a
queen. Her ambition was short lived for the mere fact that succession in
her country declared women unable to inherit. Quickly, an army was
raised against her, led by her lover. For three years, her smaller force
was able to hold their ground until, finally, the Duke's forces proved the better.
Determined to remain in control of her life, the traitor Alyna
threw herself into the ocean from a cliff and was presumed dead. With
the Moreaus no longer able to hold the country, the Seraphins took
control.
NEARLY A CENTURY LATER, two marriages are
made: King Aldrin Seraphin to Prince Alys of Liston and Prince Edward
Howard to Princess Ophelia Seraphin. These were matches to end the
centuries long strife between them, matches to bind blood that had so
long been at odds with each other.
IN THE END, it might not prove enough. Edward and
Alys are descendants of Alyna and Edward believes he has more a right to
Sundaril's crown than his sister's new husband. In the meantime, Aldrin
fights to have a son for his union with the Liston princess has brought
only a daughter. Frantic, the king of Sundaril changes the law of
succession, making it so women can inherit property and power.
However, these are but ripples in the sea of the world as wars begin,
boundaries change, queens are disposed of and courtier influence world
event with the ease of spreading a rumor. Let not the common folk be
forgotten either, for they are the witnesses, the people upon whose love
the success of a dynasty rides. Within the streets of Sundaril and Liston,
within the homes of these citizens, their own stories bud and flower,
taking on a life of their own.
IN TWO COUNTRIES, myriads of stories bud and
bloom. Whether they twist and turn in schemes and blood or whether
they grow straight and steady in a pure path is up to you...
